[Unit Project 1] Reassuring for Me

 

My artifact is a bracelet which was given by my grandmother when I was junior high school third grade. It was handmade by my grandmother and is made of stones in several colors, including yellow and light blue. These stones are called power stones.  And each color has a meaning. For example, yellow stones are said to lead to goal achievement, victory, and success, while light blue stones are said to lead to success, prayer stones, and stones that bring good luck. It is said that it is good to wear one, so I wear it like a talisman. It can be worn on the wrist or as an accessory.

 When I was in the third year of junior high school, I studied hard every day to take the high school entrance exam. One day, when I visited my grandmother's house, my grandmother gave me a bracelet. As I rarely wear bracelets, I wondered why she gave it to me.

 “Grandmother, why did you give it to me?” I spoke.

 “I made this with the hope that you would be able to pass the high school entrance exam. The power stone has meaning of victory and happiness.” She answered.

 I don't usually wear bracelets of this type, so I wasn't really interested in it. However, I was touched when I learned that my grandmother had made it with me in mind.  “Thank you, grandmother! I value this.” I spoke.

  That's why I cherished it as a talisman. And on the day of the high school entrance exam, I went to the venue with this. I was very nervous that day, but this bracelet made me feel more confident. As a result, I was able to get into my first-choice school. I think it was thanks to my grandmother that I was able to pass the exam. A few days later, I went to my grandmother's house and asked reported the results.

 “Hi, grandmother! I passed the exam. It was thanks to this bracelet that I was able to pass the exam.”

 Then, she cried with joy. When I saw that figure, I was moved as if my heart had been touched. I still remember that moment vividly. I thanked my grandmother and expressed her gratitude. I will never forget this event. I still carry this bracelet with me whenever I have a competition or something important to do. I feel very reassured just by having this. It's been many years since I received this bracelet, but I treasure it so much that it still shines like a jewel. I will continue to live with this bracelet.

  In recent years, there are many bracelets made of materials other than power stones, such as those made of metal. People often wear them as part of their fashion. And it seems that fewer people are wearing bracelets made of power stones. However, it is difficult for people with metal allergies to wear metal bracelets. However, anything made of beads can be worn by anyone, regardless of their background. Therefore, this type of bracelet also has its merits, so I would like to pass it on to future generations.

 Also, bracelets made of power stones are imbued with meaning. But people don't seem to understand them. Beads come in a variety of colors, such as red and green, and each has a different meaning. By understanding this, it becomes a talisman and something reassuring for yourself. Also, if you receive it from someone, it becomes something that connects you with that person. Therefore, people not only need to wear them, but also understand the meaning behind them. That understanding will lead to increasing the importance of this bracelet.
